Southern Illinois University admits freshman applicants who have graduated from high school. We do make exceptions for students participating in our High School Concurrent Enrollment program and for those who have earned the G.E.D.
You should apply well in advance of the term you want to attend. To get your application on the priority review list, all application materials are due by December 1.

Applicants will be eligible for automatic admission if they are on track to complete the high school course pattern requirements and meet one of the following criteria:
Undergraduate students who do not meet one of the three criteria above will be reviewed for admission under a holistic review process. Certain academic programs may continue to have additional admission requirements.
Homeschool students must submit official transcripts. Partial transcripts for admission purposes can be submitted via email by the homeschool organization or teaching parent. Final homeschool transcripts must be submitted by the homeschool organization or teaching parent in a sealed envelope through the mail.
An additional step or screening process is required for certain programs. Requirements for direct entry into some programs exceed university admission requirements. Please be sure to read the Special Conditions section.
